ABOUT ME

FUNNY you’re here…

I'm Gary Pollock, Ballymena born and reared stand-up comedian, writer, content creator, event host and promoter. My journey into the world of stand up comedy began in 2019, and ever since, I've been on a mission to spread my comedic wings across Northern Ireland and beyond.

I'm married and have a wee boy who is 2, so I have no shortage of material where that's concerned. I also still work full time in marketing, looking after corporate and local businesses with social media and content strategy.

At the core of my comedic style is navigating the pressures of being an adult, a husband, a dad, and the love/hate relationship I have for my hometown, which is reflected in a lot of my material. Ballymena's charm, quirks, and the warmth of its people inspire my material, connecting me with audiences on a personal level. It's more than just comedy; it's a celebration of our own wee quirks and I try to bring a relatability to my performances, there's power of laughter in bringing people together.

I'm the proud owner of two comedy clubs, each with its own distinct flavour. Kiwi's Comedy Club in Portrush offers a laid-back coastal vibe, while Clean Affronted Comedy in Bangor combines humour with a touch of North Down class at The Grand Social.

When I'm not running the show in my own clubs, you'll find me at all the top stages across Northern Ireland. From the bustling comedy clubs in the city such as Lavery’s and Pug Ugly’s, to more intimate gatherings at private and corporate events, I bring my comedic stylings wherever laughter is needed.
